Lately, with the recent lockdown and limitations in movement, many of us have been experiencing car battery rundown. If so read about how to jumpstart your car.

In this video, and before lockdown, we visited Supa Quick Hillcrest and asked our expert to tell us more about our cars’ batteries:

  • Battery sizes and types – Modern batteries such as those in BMWs and Mercs use start-stop technology. These draw more current than standard batteries but help save fuel as they cut out when the car comes to a halt, and starts up when the car accelerates.
  • Batteries in winter – Cooler temperatures put more strain on batteries which is why they tend to fail on extremely cold days.
