Our Partnership with Wheel Well

  • Wheel Well-News-Tips/Guides

Wheel Well is a registered Section 21 company dedicated to working for child safety on South African roads. Their overarching initiative is to collect used child car seats from generous donors in order to distribute them to families who cannot afford to buy them. Since Supa Quick has always believed in putting safety in the forefront of motorists, partnering with Wheel Well is a natural fit.

With young passengers incurring road injuries and fatalities at an alarming rate in South Africa, Supa Quick has decided to work together with Wheel Well to raise awareness around child car seats, and to assist in the collection of donated seats.

The Importance of Child Car Seats

The road safety regulations are not enough to protect children of all ages. Seatbelts are only fitting for adults because of their larger frames, and crash tests show that persons under 1,5 metres tall are significantly safer strapped into a child car seat or booster seat than a seatbelt.

Wheel Well collects used car seats, refurbishes those that are still fit for restoration to high compliance standards, and redistributes to families in need. Today, more than 9,000 car seats have been donated. As a fitment centre with a national footprint, Supa Quick can play an important role by acting as a drop-off point.

How Does it Work and How Can You Help?

  1. If you have a pre-loved child car seat you no longer have any use for you can drop it off at a convenient Supa Quick branch
  2. SkyNet Worldwide Express will collect the donated seats and deliver them to Wheel Well’s premises in Randburg, Johannesburg
  3. Donated seats are tested to check if they are in a condition to be refurbished
  4. If so, they are cleaned and reconditioned to meet EU regulations and standards
  5. The newly conditioned seats are redistributed to lower-income families in need
  6. Seats that are unsuitable for refurbishing are recycled into various other items – nothing goes to waste

Supa Quick has been helping motorists travel safely on the roads for decades and this is an initiative that has real impact and is very close to our heart.

You can play your part – if you have a car seat that your child has outgrown, why not make a generous donation by dropping it off at your nearest Supa Quick and let a needy child benefit?
